Ten Florida companies made Fortunes 2012 list of the Most Admired Companies. Four of those companies are in Tampa Bay. They are:  Publix Supermarkets, Tech Data with $25 billion+ in revenues and Jabil Circuit with 120,000 workers worldwide and Raymond James with over 5,000 financial advisors

Private companies serve as cornerstone in Tampa Bay economy, job market., Thirty-nine of Florida’s biggest privately owned businesses are based in the greater Tampa Bay area, employ nearly 250,000 workers and generate revenues topping $43 billion. Combined, they form a lesser-known cornerstone of the regional economy. Six of the 39 private companies on this list also made the latest Tampa Bay Times rankings of the area’s top workplaces. Among them are Universal Health Care, American Strategic Insurance, Southeast Personnel Leasing, Power Design, Modern Business Associates and Hawkins Construction.
