The largest cities in the Tampa Bay Area are Tampa in Hillsborough County, and the cities of St. Petersburg and Clearwater in Pinellas County. The population of the Tampa Bay Area is estimated at 2,975,225 people as of 2015 and between 2010 and 2015 the population is estimated to have grown 6.9%.
In a study published in June 2011 the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Florida issued some projections for population growth in Tampa Bay. While this is slower growth than we experienced before the recession there is still significant population growth projected for Tampa Bay
